Debt

Staying debt free is the best option, but unfortunately many of us are forced to borrow and then hit hard times and struggle to pay back what we owe. Never feel overwhelmed and realize that there are thousands of others, if not millions, who have had the same experience. Here you can find help, and please use our Advice Guides to get an idea how to tackle your problems. The ABC are not financial advisers and we do not hold a Consumer Credit Licence. You should always seek expert help, avoid borrowing more to solve your problems and NEVER borrow from Loan Sharks (unlicensed lenders) operating outside the law.

If approached by unlicensed lenders contact Trading Standards Illegal Money Lending Team on:

We are more than a price comparison site. We allow users to shop across 14 stores (Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Waitrose, Ocado, Poundland, Iceland, Boots, Superdrug, Poundstretcher, M&S and Amazon) to optimise their grocery shop. We get our pricing directly from the retailers’ websites, with the exclusion of Aldi, which we collect manually at least once a week. Prices are updated on our site at least once a day, which means that we have all the latest prices and promotions reflected on our site. We are completely independent from the retailers on our site.

Birkett Long provides directors and shareholders with proactive advice on the nature and effects of insolvency before it happens, to give you the opportunity to appreciate your options and consider alternative strategies.

The earlier you spot the threat of insolvency and take advice, the better the position you will be in to minimise the risk to the company, and to directors and shareholders personally.

We are a registered charity and aim to improve the quality of life for those living and working in the central London neighbourhood of Fitzrovia. We do this by running a number of community projects to provide public benefit. We are not a law centre. We only do general advice about welfare, housing and debt.

From here we provide a free housing, welfare and debt advice service, support older people, deliver creative arts, culture, recreation, health and social activities, and community development and social integration for the Bangladeshi community.

We publish Fitzrovia News a free neighbourhood newspaper, promote citizenship and democracy, and encourage volunteering. We have an archive of community newspapers and organise the Fitzrovia Festival.

With a small donation and big faith, John Kirkby started Christians Against Poverty in 1996. He believed God was calling him to sacrifice his career in finance and use his knowledge of the industry to help the poor. In his hometown of Bradford, John set off on the incredible journey of CAP. His faith adventure led him to people crippled by debt; parents who couldn't feed their children, families facing eviction and desperate people living in fear and without hope.
